Born and raised in Nanaimo B.C., fishing has been a passion of mine as far back as I can remember. I followed in my grandfather’s footsteps when it came to taking fishing one step further. Spending my summers with my grandparents camping in a log sort on the side of the Port Alberni Canal catching the migrating Chinook. In 1987 my father took me to Barkley Sound, where I would catch my first solo Tyee at Swale Rock. From that day on I dreamed of starting my own fishing operation. Later on in life, my guiding career began, when I started running charters out of my fathers boat in Nanaimo. Then on to the big time in Hakai Pass, where I spent a few seasons. My fishing path led me back to Barkley Sound where I guided in several of the local fishing resorts as well as meeting my future wife. With my dream of my own fishing operation ever present in my mind I started Swale Rock Fishing Charters.
